Vice President

Chuck has been working in the material handling and overhead crane industry for over 45 years. He started with Harnischfeger Corp (P&H) in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a service specialist. He gained valuable knowledge in crane and hoist technology. He later became a Relationship Manager, where he communicated with P&H customers throughout North America.

Chuck has also been a part of the design process for parts such as a patented brake system and several safety systems. With this knowledge, Chuck was able to provide pre-sales support. Chuck's attention to detail is the biggest value to his customers. He understands the pressures of owning an overhead crane, and is by far the right person to have in your corner to help get the job done.

President

David Roanhouse has been in the industry for over 20 years. He started his journey in the overhead crane and hoist industry as an in house repair technician. Over the years he has been involved in service, OSHA inspections, manufacturing of bridge cranes, field modernizations, installations, design, and fabrication of special components.

His broad knowledge of the industry allows his customers to get a 360 degree scope of work to make sure nothing is missed in their facility.

TIMELINE

Excel Industries, Inc. was Founded by David and Charles Roanhouse based on the philosophy that the customer should be number 1. Starting from scratch in the garage of their homes, the father and son believed that a true service company should be a comprehensive organization with the customers needs being paramount. Because of their profound skills and business ethics, the company has grown into a successful business serving some of the largest manufacturing companies in the southeast.

Summer 2004

Excel Industries Inc. moves to Springfield Tn. Continued growth necessitates the move from family owned buildings to a 15,000 Square foot building on North Main Street in Springfield.

Spring 2010

Excel Industries Inc. is on the move again. Buoyed by a successful service department, and a growing demand for their custom manufacturing and fabrication capabilities, the decision is made to move to a 50,000 sq ft manufacturing facility which is now the permanent home for Excel. This new facility is now able to offer better lead times, and everything from complete crane systems to specialty fabrication for our customers. All of Excel’s services are housed out of this location including service, inspections, modernizations, in house repairs, fabrication, and design.

Summer 2013

Box Girder Manufacturing Line. In the summer of 2016 we invested in a state of the art Box Girder Manufacturing Line. This systems gives Excel the ability to produce the best possible product, of any size, in a timely manner.

Summer 2016

First box girder orders being shipped out which included a 45 ton 60' span, 15 ton 85' span, and 5 ton monobox 75' span.
