200 ton press purchased for Excels shop
Excel Industries has just purchased a 200 ton Hydraulic press for the shop. This will allow Excel's service technicians to be able to do timely wheel changes and other repairs on your crane that needs a heavy press to complete the project. This press will allow us to keep the costly repair time down by not having to out source the pressing of axles out of the old crane wheels. This will also allow excel to save the customer money by not having to order complete wheel assemblies for quick turn around on wheel changes. Production down time will be limited for Excel's customers with this new purchase.
Updated progress on rebuild of 15 ton box Girder Crane
Excel Industries Inc. was contracted by a customer that had been having extreme wheel wear problems. After doing a runway rail survey and checking the crane for square, Excel was able to determine the problem. After checking the crane Excel found that the end trucks had been bent from previous use. The bent end trucks had caused the crane to skew while running down the length of the building and causing the extensive wheel wear. Excel was able to formulate a game plan that would cost a third of a new crane. This was to take the crane down and install new end trucks and re-square the crane. Pictures are of the process half way through the project. We still have to terminate all the wire connections and repaint the crane.
